The management team members of PolyMedix include:
President & C.E.O., Director, Founder: Nicholas Landekic
Nick has had one of the most successful and respected careers of any healthcare executive, with 25 years of experience with both major pharmaceutical as well as biotechnology companies, and has done some of the largest and most important financing and corporate licensing deals in the healthcare industry. Prior to founding PolyMedix in 2002, from 2000-2002, he was President & C.E.O. and the first employee of Locus Pharmaceuticals, where in two years he raised $83 million in venture financings, hired over 50 employees, started 12 drug discovery programs, built one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, and earned for the company the accolade "One of the 10 hottest biotech start-ups" from Drug Discovery Today magazine. Prior to Locus, from 1995-2000 he was Sr. Vice President Corporate Development & Investor Relations at Guilford Pharmaceuticals, where he concluded a $465 million deal with Amgen and a $100 million deal with Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. His deals have twice been nominated for "Allicense Deal of the Year". Prior to Guilford, from 1991-1995 he was Sr. Director, Business Development at Cephalon; from 1988-1991 Sr. Manager, Strategic Marketing at Bristol-Myers Squibb; from 1985-1988 positions in Finance and Business Development at Johnson & Johnson Corporation (McNeil Pharmaceutical); and has also worked in the research laboratories at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center from 1982-1983. He holds an M.B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, an M.S. Biology from Indiana University, and a B.S. Biology from Marist College.

Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer: Edward Smith
Ed brings approximately 15 years of combined biopharmaceutical industry and financial management experience. From 2000 to 2005, he was Executive Director of Finance at InKine Pharmaceutical Company, Inc. (ultimately acquired by Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd.). Ed started his career in public accounting where he held positions of increasing responsibility, most recently at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Ed is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford.

Vice President, Research: Richard Scott, Ph.D.
Dr. Scott brings over 20 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience to PolyMedix, in which he has led many aspects of the preclinical drug discovery and early clinical development process. Most recently he was Vice President Biology at Cephalon, where he served in positions of increasing responsibility from 1991-2001. From 1985-1990, Rick worked at the research laboratories of DuPont. He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Pennsylvania, and B.S. in Biology from Muhlenberg College. He has authored over 50 papers and book chapters, and is named on 6 patents.

Vice President, Business Development: Dawn Eringis
Dawn brings over 15 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience in business development, strategic planning, marketing, and chemical engineering. She has held positions of increasing responsibility at Locus Discovery, Guilford Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & JohnsonoMerck, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, and Rohm & Haas. She holds an M.B.A. from Wharton, and a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Vice President, Clinical Development: Eric McAllister, M.D., D.Phil. (Ph.D.)
Eric brings over 30 years of industry and clinical trials experience, most recently as Sr. Vice President of Clinical Development at CombinatoRx Inc. Previously with Sicor Pharmaceuticals, TAP Pharmaceuticals, Cholestech Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb, G.D. Searle, and Syntex Pharmaceuticals, Dr. McAllister also spent seven years as a clinical investigator with MEDStudies. He has an M.D. from Dalhousie University, and a D.Phil. (Ph.D.) degree from Oxford University, and was also a Rhodes Scholar. Dr. McAllister has worked on the development of such major pharmaceutical products as Lupron, Pravachol, Capoten, Kerlone, Cardene, Calan, Avandia, Actos, Teveten, and Atacand.

Vice President, Drug Development: Bozena Korczak, Ph.D.
Bozena brings over twenty years of experience in discovery,
pre-clinical, and clinical research at burgeoning biotech organizations.
Dr. Korczak was previously Vice President of Research and Development at
Cytochroma, where she led the development of several compounds in a
variety of therapeutic areas. Prior to Cytochroma, Dr. Korczak served in
various positions of increasing responsibility in clinical development
and research at Glycodesign, Allelix, Mount Sinai Hospital and
University of Toronto. She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Polish
Academy of Science and MSc. Biology from University of Wroclaw. Bozena
is an author of thirty-five peer reviewed scientific papers and three
patents.
